Second Grade Start Spring Science and Social Studies

In Science, the second grade students discussed what changes Earth and how some changes happen very quickly. The students made models of volcanoes and erupted them to show how quickly the land around it changes.

In Social Studies, the students are talking about how people from the past lived, such as Native Americans and Pioneers. The students did a research project and created a poster for a Native American tribe they chose. They are also making models of tepees.

The students will be taking a trip to the bank next week for a presentation and tour. In class, they were talking about the choices people can make about earning, spending and saving money.

The students are also taking a field trip to Mitchell on May 13 to the Dakota Discovery Museum, Prehistoric Indian Village, and the Corn Palace.
