Elementary Students Perform in Annual Christmas Concert

High School & Middle School Sing Songs for the Season

The Burke High School and Middle School held their annual Christmas concert on November 29 at the High School Gym. The students were under the direction of Mrs. Rachelle Stephens and Mrs. Pat Thiry. The program was titled "A Season for Sharing and Caring," and the students played and sang songs about the Christmas season.

7th and 8th Grade Band started the night by performing "Chanson de Noel" and "North Pole Sleigh Ride." The Middle School Choir then performed three songs: "Ring The Bells, It's Christmas," "Tue Tue," and "Bring on the Snow." During "Tue Tue," students Piper Hanson, Gunnar Stephens, Callie Davis, and Elly Witt played instruments.

After the Middle School Choir, Junior Heidi Gonzalez sang a solo titled "My Favorite Things." The 6th Grade Band performed next with songs titled "Wassail March" and "Little Drummer Boy." The Men's Ensemble, made up of member from the community and the Burke High School, then performed "Gesu Bambino."

Next up was the High School Band who performed "Celebrate the Season: Fanfare on Joy to the World" and "All I want For Christmas Is You." Last up for the night was the High School Choir. They sang "Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel" and "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas." The High School Choir then closed out the night with "Silent Night," singing the first verse in German and having the audience join the second verse in English.

The Burke Elementary held their annual Christmas concert on November 30 in the High School Gym. The students were under the direction of Mrs. Pat Thiry and performed many festive songs.

The night started with the 5th Grade Band who performed "Tisket a Tasket," "Up on the Housetop," and "Jingle Bells." The Begindergarten through 2nd Grade sang five songs, including "North Pole Adventure," "Season of Bells," "I Want to be an Elf," "Hip Hop Reindeer," and "A Gift for Santa."

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade ended the night with seven songs. They started with "I'm Dreaming" and then moved onto "Rockin' On Top of the World," "Jammin' In Our Jammies," "The Wonderful Wonders of Winter," "Crash! Boom! Bang!," and "I Whistle a Happy Tune." They then closed the night with "Rockin' On Top of the World Finale."
