photography must be matted with a backing board or mounted on poster board or heavier material . ( Pre-School , Kindergarten , Grade 1 and Elementary ages only may use construction paper for mounting ). *** Exhibitors will be dropped a ribbon if your project is not matted correctly .*** Please consider bring matted project in a plastic bag for hanging , so as not to damage the mats .
7 .) Sections 301 through 306 allow no kits or commercial molds . Basic design may be from a pattern or instructions . All work must be original and display personal creativity . ( Original artwork does not include paint-bynumber or color book pictures and will not be accepted ).
8 .) Should the judge deem no entry in a particular category worthy , no premium will be awarded . Section 301 Paintings Original Artwork ( No Kits of Commercial Molds ) 30101 Painting is defined as mediums of Oil , Tempera , Acrylic and Watercolor on a two-dimensional surface such as canvas , canvas board , paper , etc . ( No Paint-by number or color book pictures will be accepted .)
Section 302 Drawings and Prints Original Artwork ( No Kits or Commercial Molds ) 30201 Drawing is defined as mediums of Charcoal , Chalk , Marker , Graphite , Scratchboard , Crayon , Colored Pencil , Calligraphy , Pen & Ink and any other type of medium that is drawn onto a two-dimensional surface such as paper , canvas , illustrations board , etc . Prints are defined as images that are made using the printmaking process such as Intaglio , Engraving , Lithography , Silkscreen , Woodcut and Mono-printing . Section 303 Mixed Media Original Artwork ( No Kits , or Commercial Molds ) 30301 Mixed Media is defined as a combination of two-dimensional mediums . For example : The combination of drawing and painting or the use of several mediums together to make up an image . It must be two-dimensional . This would also include collage .
Section 304 Computer Generated Images Original Artwork ( No Kits or Commercial Molds ) 30401 This included original images or design created using the computer . Please note that the images used must be your own . Plus please note the copyright rule .
Section 305 Sculpture Original Artwork ( No Kits or Commercial Molds ) 30501 Sculpture is defined as any three-dimensional object , relief or in the round made out of Clay / Ceramic , Wood , Plastic , Metal , Paper , Plaster , Wire , Dough , Popsicle sticks , Stained Glass , or a combinations of three-dimensional materials . Sculpture may also be painted original objects . This class also includes original objects including hand-made jewelry , fiber or woven pieces ( includes wreaths ), basketry , furniture design , and dollhouses .
Section 306 Glass & Pottery Original Artwork ( No Kits or Commercial Molds ) 30601 Pottery is defined as handmade in Earthenware , Stoneware , Porcelain ( includes porcelain dolls ) and Hand blown Glass .
Section 307 Models , Legos ®, and K ’ Nex 30701 Models are typically small projects built to scale that represent a larger object . Models can be purchased as a kit and completed for this class . Legos ® can be
