2017 Charity Partners: Sparrow’s Nest of the Hudson Valley provides two meals, once a week, to the families of caregivers diagnosed with cancer. Caregivers are defined as legal guardians of children, under the age of 18, who are currently living in the caregiver’s home. Caregivers diagnosed with any cancer that requires chemo, radiation or surgery qualify. All recipients must live within a 20 mile radius of the charity’s health department-approved kitchen in Hopewell Junction. Through a continuum of services for the homeless to the homeowner, Hudson River Housing is dedicated to build- ing strong, sustainable communities by developing and preserving quality affordable housing and helping fami- lies and individuals obtain and maintain housing through education, advocacy, and support services. Dutchess Outreach acts as a catalyst for community revitalization and exists in Dutchess County as an advo- cate and provider of hunger and relief services in order to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, has access to fresh, healthy food, and the support they need.
