It ’ s a pleasure to welcome you to Marist College and our beautiful and historic Hudson River Valley . In particular , I ’ m delighted to welcome all of the athletes participating in the Third Annual Walkway Marathon — your hard work will pay off !
For the past year , I ’ ve had the honor and privilege of serving as president of Marist , and as I ’ ve gotten to know this community , I ’ ve been delighted to see the College ’ s level of engagement . Whether it ’ s our students volunteering and raising money for local nonprofit organizations or our faculty and staff serving on their boards , I ’ m proud of Marist ’ s commitment to service . We take a special pride in hosting the Walkway Marathon race series , which attracts thousands of athletes of all abilities and their guests to our community . It ’ s been a pleasure to work with Walkway Over the Hudson and Marathon partners Dutchess County Government , Dutchess Tourism , the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club , and many others to make this exciting day a reality .
The Hudson River Valley is one of the most magnificent locations in America , and there is no better vantage point from which to enjoy the beautiful scenery than from the Walkway Over the Hudson . Best wishes for a great race and a very enjoyable stay in our region . Again , welcome to Marist .
