Goals​ ​ & ​ ​Objectives : ​ ​Spectrum​ ​supports​ ​the​ ​mission​ ​of​ ​Saint​ ​Ursula​ ​Academy​ ​to​ ​be​ ​a​ ​more​ ​diverse​ ​and​ ​accepting community , ​ ​supports​ ​the​ ​LGBTQ + ​ ​students​ ​of​ ​our​ ​school , ​ ​and​ ​seeks​ ​to​ ​educate​ ​those​ ​outside​ ​the​ ​LGBTQ + ​ ​population . Outside / After​ ​school​ ​activities : ​ ​Some​ ​possible​ ​activities​ ​are​ ​speakers , ​ ​educational​ ​sessions​ ​focused​ ​on​ ​specific​ ​topics , lunch​ ​and​ ​learns , ​ ​volunteer​ ​opportunities​ ​at​ ​local​ ​LGBQT + ​ ​organizations , ​ ​and​ ​participation​ ​with​ ​GLSEN​ ​events . Requirements : ​ ​All​ ​class​ ​levels​ ​elect​ ​Student​ ​Council​ ​co-presidents , ​ ​a​ ​treasurer , ​ ​class​ ​presidents​ ​and​ ​class representatives . ​ ​All​ ​members​ ​should​ ​attend​ ​meetings​ ​and​ ​events​ ​sponsored​ ​by​ ​the​ ​Student​ ​Council​ ​unless​ ​excused​ ​by the​ ​moderators . Goals​ ​ & ​ ​Objectives : ​ ​To​ ​provide​ ​training​ ​and​ ​experience​ ​in​ ​the​ ​skills​ ​and​ ​techniques​ ​of​ ​good​ ​citizenship​ ​and​ ​leadership through​ ​democratic​ ​procedure . Outside / After​ ​school​ ​activities : ​ ​Some​ ​events​ ​that​ ​Student​ ​Council​ ​sponsors​ ​are​ ​not​ ​held​ ​during​ ​the​ ​school​ ​day​ ​ ( i . e ., dances , ​ ​Orange​ ​ & ​ ​White​ ​Game ). STUDENTS​ ​FOR​ ​ADVANCEMENT​ ​ ( SFA ) Moderator : ​ Ms . ​ ​Beardsley Eligibility : ​ ​ ​Sophomores , ​ ​juniors​ ​and​ ​seniors Goals​ ​ & ​ ​Objectives : ​ Provide​ ​volunteer​ ​support​ ​and​ ​serve​ ​as​ ​student​ ​liaisons​ ​for​ ​Alumnae / Advancement​ ​events and projects . ​ ​Educate​ ​students​ ​on​ ​the​ ​importance​ ​of​ ​giving​ ​back​ ​to​ ​SUA​ ​with​ ​their​ ​time , ​ ​talent​ ​and​ ​treasure​ ​while​ ​they are current​ ​students​ ​and​ ​as​ ​future​ ​alumnae . Requirements : ​ Members​ ​are​ ​expected​ ​to​ ​confidently​ ​interact​ ​with​ ​alumnae​ ​and​ ​their​ ​guests , ​ ​and​ ​represent​ ​SUA​ ​in a professional​ ​and​ ​enthusiastic​ ​manner . ​ ​Members​ ​are​ ​expected​ ​to​ ​volunteer​ ​for​ ​the​ ​majority​ ​of Alumnae / Advancement events . ​ ​All​ ​SFA​ ​service​ ​hours​ ​to​ ​our​ ​school​ ​help​ ​fulfill​ ​NHS​ ​service​ ​requirements . ​ ​Members​ ​are required​ ​to​ ​meet​ ​during​ ​5th​ ​Bell​ ​Student​ ​Organization​ ​days . Members​ ​may​ ​not​ ​miss​ ​more​ ​than​ ​two​ ​meetings , ​ ​unless excused​ ​by​ ​Moderator​ ​with​ ​a​ ​24-hour​ ​e-mail​ ​notice . ​ ​Members are​ ​expected​ ​to​ ​wear​ ​their​ ​GOLD​ ​nametags​ ​at​ ​all​ ​school events . Outside / After​ ​school​ ​activities : ​ A​ ​majority​ ​of​ ​Advancement / Alumnae​ ​events​ ​occur​ ​outside​ ​of​ ​the​ ​school​ ​day . ​ ​Events for 2017-2018​ ​include​ ​the​ ​following​ ​but​ ​are​ ​not​ ​limited​ ​to : ​ ​Reunion​ ​Homecoming​ ​Weekend​ ​ ( Sept . ​​ ​15-16 ), Phone-A-Thons ( October / November ), ​ ​Giving​ ​Tuesday , ​ ​Christmas​ ​Tea , ​ ​SUA​ ​Ball​ ​ ( February ), ​ ​and​ ​the​ ​SUA​ ​Walk ! Requirements​ : Goals​ ​ & ​ ​Objectives​ : ​ ​To​ ​spread​ ​the​ ​love​ ​of​ ​science , ​ ​technology , ​ ​engineering​ ​and​ ​math​ ​to​ ​SUA . ​ ​ ​We​ ​will​ ​introduce​ ​young women​ ​to​ ​this​ ​career​ ​field​ ​and​ ​show​ ​how​ ​these​ ​subjects​ ​can​ ​be​ ​much​ ​more​ ​exciting​ ​and​ ​fun​ ​than​ ​you​ ​may​ ​think !
