STANSW Early Career Teachers Course (ECT)
Margaret Shepherd
Friday 17th March at Taronga Zoo
Monday 5th June at University of Notre Dame
Monday 4th September at ANSTO Lucas Heights
Monday 27th November at University of Notre Dame
A huge thank you to Taronga Zoo, Notre Dame and ANSTO for their sponsorship of this event.
This four day program provides opportunities for early career teachers to discuss current issues in
education. It enables participants to form partnerships and alliances that will enhance excellence in
teaching and learning. The group of participants came along to each session with a very positive attitude
and enjoyed the networking provided by this type of in-service.
The course was NESA accredited for 20 hours for 6.1.2, 6.2.2, 6.3.2, 6.4.2 and 7.4.2 standards.
A huge number of presenters were involved in sharing their expertise with our early career teachers and I
give many thanks to; Nikki Bodel (Taronga Zoo), David Gault (NESA), Gina Grant (AIS), Kelly Hobson-
Hollis (Rosebank College), Trish Stockbridge (Syd Uni), Ricky Connor (Syd Uni), Oriana Miano (St
Lukes), Catherine Munro (NESA), Julie Rogers (Lucas Height Community School) and to Rod Dowler and
ANSTO support staff.
