On behalf of the City of Penticton, it gives me great pleasure to welcome athletes and spectators to our City and the first-ever International Triathlon Union (ITU) Multisport World Championships Festival.

Our community has been hosting athletes for iron-distance triathlon for 35 years, and we are very excited to be your host for this event. We are very proud of our friendly community and volunteer army that work tirelessly to ensure your race is memorable. Our whole City is focused on delivering the experience of a lifetime to athletes of all ages and abilities, and creating a memorable spectator event that captures all the excitement and emotion of this awe-inspiring international celebration of sport.

After the racing and training are over, we hope you have time to relax and enjoy the incredible hospitality and attractions the

South Okanagan has to offer: wine tastings, world-class rock climbing, boutique shopping, or just relaxing on our stunning beaches. Please take a few days to indulge yourself in the Okanagan lifestyle - you deserve it.

I invite you to return to train, compete, or holiday in Penticton as we pride ourselves with the diversity of festivals, events and off the beaten path experiences.

It is exciting to host a world championship event and provide an opportunity to bolster not just civic pride but national honour. Our whole community will be cheering you on as you cross the finish line and join the long history that is Penticton racing.
