BUSINESS OPERATIONS
The Business of Shipping (BOS)

GAC was founded on the business of shipping, and this course ensures that all GAC people working in our
shipping business have an established base level of knowledge of the shipping industry and our place in it.
The course includes an overview of the vessels and terminology used, the key stakeholders, the importance
of compliance and ethics, international trade practice, contracts and commercials of shipping business.
The course will draw from the extensive experience of GAC’s shipping experts from around the world,
demonstrating our products and services to the shipping industry and our best practice examples of quality
service delivery.

Shipping Agency Operations (SAO)

The GAC Ship Agency Operations (SAO) course builds a specialised understanding of our ship agency business.
The course ensures that all those involved in ship agency with GAC have a common understanding of the
important principles underpinning our success. This includes building excellent stakeholder relationships,
critical documentation processes, legal and compliance aspects, strategies for increasing commercial success
and the potential of liner agency business. SAO will establish an appreciation of our standard agency service
standard and provide the opportunity for GAC’s ship agency people from around the world to learn from each
other’s experiences.

HOYER Operations (HYO)

HOYER is a leading international logistics company that builds specialist tanks for moving liquids by road,
rail and sea. GAC has recently embarked on a major global contract to handle HOYER business and the HOYER
Operations (HYO) course aims to build a foundation level of knowledge and competency required for all GAC
employees involved in HOYER business to ensure we deliver optimum operational performance. The course
will cover the specifications of HOYER equipment, essential handling and operations guidelines,
commercial aspects of our partnership, and strategies for continual improvement in service delivery.
