the coastal trail
The Coastal Trail is the best in Algoma at 63 km ( 39 mi ), or 5 to 7 days . A strenuous hiking adventure , the trail traces the Lake Superior coastline along scenic cliffs , across cobblestone beaches and forests . Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles , especially along the Sand and Agawa rivers . Several access points give you a choice of spending one or several days on the trail .

This 2 million-acre preserve , the largest game preserve in the world , offers endless backpacking opportunities , awesome scenery and is an excellent opportunity to view wildlife in their natural surroundings .
