Women of faith, integrity and courage Religion classes transmit the faith and traditions of Roman Catholicism to guide young women in becoming committed Christian adults. All- school and grade-level liturgical celebrations affirm the spirit within our school community, and every student participates in an annual spiritual retreat. We ensure that our Catholic mission is the cornerstone of all that we do, while at the same time respecting and welcoming students, parents, faculty and staff of all faiths. The Academy Alum Program The spirit of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline order of sisters, permeates the school as we seek to cultivate the spiritual life of young women. Every school day begins and ends with prayer, and the chapel is available as a special place for personal reflection with God at any time. 14 Values and spiritual formation Our community prioritizes personal formation of each student. We are dedicated to developing young women with self-confidence, high self-esteem and integrity, aware of their own gifts and the responsibility they have to use these gifts to benefit themselves and others. That’s why we created our signature Academy Alum Program, which focuses on the four key characteristics we hope every student embodies when she graduates: Thinker, Leader, Nurturer, and Prophet. Beginning in ninth grade, Saint Ursula Academy partners with each student and her parents or guardians, providing her with the tools she needs to live a life of faith, integrity and courage. At graduation, the Academy Alum is able to lead, is ready to serve, eager to witness, and committed to faith. 15
