It has a free Advisory Visit Program which provides technical services, assessments and information on natural resource manage- ment on your property. NCRCD also offers conservation seminars and workshops, lends hand tools to landowners and participates in programs for local school children. Information/Seminars: ncrcd.org NEVADA COUNTY FARM BUREAU: This is an organization where those inter- ested in farming and ranching have the opportunity to stay informed and have a voice in managing the county’s important agricultural resources. Membership is not just for farmers and Information / Seminars / Events ranchers. The Farm Bureau is a family-orient- ed organization open to everyone. It is part of the California Farm Bureau Federation and provides a wide range of services, as well as scholarships. Information: nevadacountyfarmbureau.com NEVADA COUNTY GROWN: This non-prof- it was formed as a marketing organization to promote farmers and ranchers, as well as educate the public about the importance of agriculture in Nevada County. Publishes The Farm Guide which helps the public find local agricultural products. This annual guide is available at area chambers of commerce and on the organization’s website. A current project is the Nevada County Food Hub designed to provide a link be- tween producers and large-scale buyers such as restaurants, stores and schools. It will also increase the public’s access to fresh, locally grown food and help expand agriculture in the county. The conference brings together a diverse panel of speakers, farming related businesses and organiza- tions. There are lectures, workshops, and a food and farming expo.
