Students Sing Day Away at USD All-State Workshop

The USD All-State Chorus Workshop day is a fun day devoted strictly to singing. Haley Benter, Allie Stangle, Kaleb Wells, Brecken Bartling, Megan McCarthy, Ethan DeLong, and Skyla Hosselkus attended the USD All-State Workshop.

The students split up into their soprano, alto, tenor, and base singing sections. The Burke high school students sang with about 200-300 people. The students sang and practiced the All-State songs and then they performed them for the conductors.

Students Perform at All-State Concert

Burke high school students went to the All-State Chorus and orchestra in Sioux Falls on October 27 through October 28. The performance was at the Denny Sanford Premier Center at 7:00 P.M. The concert was also live streamed to SDPB television stations. The students practiced all day October 27, and part of October 28. The night of October 28 was the performance.

The students that went were Brecken Bartling, Haley Benter, Allie Stangle, and Kaleb Wells. Haley Benter, Brecken Bartling, and Kaleb Wells' favorite song was the "Famine Song." Allie Stangle's favorite song was "Truley Brave."

" It was fun but the practices were long," stated Sophomore, Allie Stangle.
