Lady Cougars Take a HUGE Win Over AC/DC

The Lady Cougars traveled to Lake Andes on October 10 hungry for a win. This was one of the most important games of the season so they gave it their all. The Lady Cougars took a win in 4 sets losing the first set 23-25, then coming back to win in the next three with the scores 25-13, 25-16, and 25-11.

Taylee Indahl had 21 kills, 19 digs, and 2 aces. Lahna Matucha was closely behind with 20 kills, and 14 digs. Sierra Swan had 3 kills, 5 blocking assists, and and 1 dig. Bobbi Jo Wischmann added 30 assists. JV and C Team both won in 2 sets.

"I felt like we came prepared and ready to play AC/DC. We knew that this was a crucial game for our seeding so we had to come out fired up and ready to play. We really had a strong offensive attack, but it was a strong effort on defense that got the job done. Our blockers really did a nice job of stepping up and slowing their offense down. Overall, it was a great match for us and were very pleased the way the girls played. The crowd also did a great job of cheering in that game to help keep the girls fired up....keep it up Cougar Fans!! " stated head coach Billie Jo Indahl.

Lady Cougars Take Second Place at SESD Tournament

The Lady Cougars traveled to Winner on October 21 to compete in the SESD Tournament. The Lady Cougars played a total of 6 games only losing 1. The team beat Gregory in 2 sets, 25-10 and 25-16. The Cougars won against Parkston in 2 sets with the scores 25-23, and 25-22. The girls also won in 2 sets against Scotland with the scores 25-17, and 25-12.

The last game the girls played before semi finals was against Bon Homme winning in 2 with the scores of 25-15, and 25-11. They played in semi-finals against Winner winning in 3 sets with the scores of 25-14, 13-25, and 25-20.

In the championship game they lost a close game to Wagner in 2 sets with the scores of 20-25, and 15-25.

Lady Cougars End Regular Season with a Win

The Lady Cougars ended their regular season winning against the Lyman Raiders on October 24. Their ending record was 25-5, and the JV's was 12-2. The Varsity won in 3 sets with the scores 25-16, 25-12, and 25-12.

Teah Serr had 2 aces, 2 kills, and 8 digs. Bobbi Jo Wischmann had 2 aces, 1 kill, 33 assists, and 12 digs. Taylee Indahl had 5 aces, 12 kills, and 7 digs.

Lady Cougars Take Close Loss to the Raiders

The Lady Cougars took a close loss against Wagner on October 23. The Lady Cougars went into 5 sets with the scores 18-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 8-15.

Santanya Matucha had 22 serve receives, 9 digs, along with receiving her 1,000 career dig. Ryahna Schweigert had 2 aces, 12 serve receives, and 8 digs. Brecken Bartling added 4 kills, and 7 digs. Sierra Swan had 6 kills and 3 digs. Bobbi Jo Wischmann had 1 ace, 1 kill, 37 assists, and led in digs with 23. Taylee Indahl had 19 kills, 2 aces, 13 serve receives, and 17 digs. Lahna Matucha had 12 kills, 1 ace, 13 serve receives, and 20 digs.

JV and C Team also took losses with very close games.
