Fourth Graders Sing Their Hearts Out

The Fourth Graders sang at their Christmas Concert, Winter Wonderland, the Nutrition Site Christmas party, and they have been Caroling at the Court House. They also decorated the tree inside of the courthouse.

Third Graders read 90 Minutes A Day

The third grade class has been very dedicated to reading. They have set aside 90 minutes a day for just reading. They are so committed that they even do it on early outs.

Whoa! 90 minutes of reading...that seems like a long time to sit! Oh but wait, these kids are up and moving, and indulging in some of the best reading techniques and strategies available. The 90 minute reading block is broken up into small time intervals based on the "10-2" method which assists in keeping students engaged and on task.

They have also been focusing on phonics and vocabulary skills as well as reading fluency and comprehension skills.

Fifth Graders Learn About Fractions

The fifth graders are learning how to add and subtract fractions. The kids are starting to love the hands on math and they are learning that common core isn't that bad.
