Lady Cougars Take a Defeat Against North Central

The Lady Cougars traveled to North Central for their second game of the season on December 12. The game was held at North Central's high school gym.

Ryahna Schweigert and Tressa Bull had the most points scored in the game. Ryahna having 19 points and Tressa had 11 points. The Lady Cougars lost 53-65. The JV team won with a score of 36-25.

"I thought that we played really hard and we gave it everything we had. We stayed with them for the majority of the game, but we just came up a little short in the end," stated senior, Teah Serr.

Lady Cougars Loose the Battle Against the Lady Winner Warriors

The Lady Cougars took on the Lady Winner Warriers at Burke's high school gym on December 14. Winner was ahead at halftime with a score of 32-48 only to win the game with a score of 44-58.

Tressa Bull had the most points for the Lady Cougars with a total of 23 points.

The Lady Cougars JV team also lost against Winner. The score was 33-49.

Lady Cougars Dominate the Lyman Lady Raiders

Burke Lady Cougars took home two wins against the Lyman Lady Raiders on December 19.

The JV started the nigh off with a win. The JV coaches from Burke and Lyman, Miss Green and Miss Green, sisters, rivaled against each other.

The varsity final score was 66-41. The leading scorers were Tressa Bull with 24 points and Ryahna Schweigert with 12 points.

The leading rebounders were Tressa Bull with 7 and Taylee Indahl with 5. There was a total of 30 rebounds. Taylee Indahl had the leading number of assists and had 6. Lahna Matucha led in steals with 5. The field goal percentage was 43%. The Lady Cougars shot 67% from the free throw line.

The Lady Cougars had 20 turnovers, Mr. Determan said “those are things we can fix.”

The next game for the Lady Cougars is on December 28. The game is in Burke against Jones County. It is a double header.
