Lady Cougars Take Home an Amazing Win

The Cougars start their season with a win against the Colome Cowgirls on August 26. The game was held in Colome at their high school gym.

The Cowgirls won the first set, 20-25, but the Cougars battled back winning the next three for an overall victorious win. The scores of the last three sets were 25-19, 25-9, and 25-18.

The Lady Cougars C-team lost the first two sets against the Cowgirls, 23-25, and 14-25, but won the last set, 25-8. The Lady Cougars JV team won in three sets. 25-14, 23-25, and 15-4.

The Lady Cougars had their first home game against the Lady Winner Warriors. It was held on August 29 at Burke's high school gym. The Lady Cougars won in three sets, 25-17, 25-20, and 26-24. Taylee Indahl and Lahna Matucha both led in kills having 15 each.

The Lady Cougars C-team won in three sets as well. They won the first and last sets, 25-22 and 15-11, but lost the second set, 25-20. The Cougars JV team lost in two sets, 23-25 and 18-25.

The Lady Cougars traveled to Chamberlain for their third game of the season. The game was held on September 5. The Lady Cougars won in three sets, 25-15, 25-12, and 25-17.

Lahna Matucha led in kills and aces, having 8 kills and 9 aces, and Ryahna Schweigert led in digs with 15 digs overall.

The Lady Cougars played O'Neill St. Mary's at Bonesteel in their high school gym. The game was held on September 7. The Lady Cougars won in three sets, 25-8, 25-9, and 25-14.

That night there was no JV or C-team games, there was only a varsity game. Lahna Matucha led the team in kills with a total of 7 kills.
