DAN KRAJCIK, DO/MBA DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMS ASHLEIGH SLEMMER, DO/MBA Twenty-five students were enrolled in dual degree programs, combining their medical education with interests in research, business, public health and more. This year, we graduated our first three D.O./M.B.A. students and our first D.O./M.S. student, who completed an individual interdisciplinary program in bioinformatics. Another D.O./Ph.D. student successfully defended her thesis and received her Ph.D. A STREAMLINED PATH TO MEDICAL SCHOOL The first three students from our Early Assurance Program partner schools began medical school in August 2017. Through our EAP partnerships, selected students from Ohio can earn both undergraduate and D.O. degrees in as little as seven years. EAP students also are mentored by Heritage College students, have access to programming and activities that introduce them to the medical school experience, and are given opportunities to shadow physicians in clinical settings. Since 2013, we have developed EAP partnerships with five universities across the state: Ohio University, Baldwin-Wallace, John Carroll, Ohio Dominican and Otterbein. 12
