LAUNCHING 2018 TRANSFORMING OUR CURRICULUM The Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation approved both our new Pathways to Health and Wellness Curriculum and the Transformative Care Continuum in December 2016. Both PHWC and TCC, a demonstration project at the Heritage College, Cleveland, will launch in the fall of 2018. SERVING IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES In May 2017, the Office of Rural and Underserved Programs graduated the first four-year cohort from its flagship program, the Rural and Urban Scholars Pathways program – 18 students, with 72 percent matching to residency training in primary care-focused specialties and 67 percent to residency training in Ohio. $7.9M 22 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMS LEADING INTERPROFESSIONAL TEAMS Our Office of Rural and Underserved Programs hosted a day of interactive workshops for medical and other OHIO health professions students in January 2017, presented by Andrew Morris-Singer, M.D., a nationally acclaimed expert on relational leadership in health care. Morris and his team from Primary Care Progress, a national nonprofit dedicated to transforming primary care delivery, focused on the theme of how young physicians can find their voices as leaders and work to remake health care through decentralized, relationship-based teamwork. 08
