FIVE YEARS
OF GROWTH
The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation’s Award, Vision 2020: Leading the
Transformation of Primary Care in Ohio
Five years ago, the day the OHF announced its transformational award
to our college, we also announced our new name: The Ohio University
Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. We proudly added “Heritage”
to our name in recognition of our major benefactor, and with this change
we embarked upon a period of immense, deep-reaching renewal and
expansion throughout our entire medical school.
The award agreement identified investments in education, research and
care programs that would fuel innovation and growth. Ambitious new
initiatives and the evolution of existing programs became the catalyst
for other opportunities and relationships that continue to move our
strategies, and our partners’ priorities, forward. Every aspect of our
college – every department, program and administrative unit – has
transformed since that 2011 announcement.
It’s been an amazing five years of progress. But we are far from finished.
The award agreement calls for projects extending into 2028. And our
new campuses and programs provide the foundation for even more
growth in years to come.
