LEADERSHIP IN GME TRANSFORMATION Bob Cain, D.O. (’88), our associate dean for clinical education, is chair of the Osteopathic Recognition Committee for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. During this first year of a five-year transition process to single accreditation through ACGME, our staff have provided critical technical assistance to the 75 associated hospital residency programs for their accreditation and osteopathic recognition applications. TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF GRADUATES WHO STAY IN OHIO TO PRACTICE, WE RECRUIT FROM OHIO. CLEVELAND 54 admitted 96% from Ohio STUDENTS FOCUS ON DIVERSITY DUBLIN 51 admitted 100% from Ohio Heritage College students from all three campuses came together to plan and host the 2015 Region V Student National Medical Association Conference at the Heritage College, Dublin, in November 2015. The conference attracted more than 100 medical and pre-medical students from three states to share ideas on increasing medical profession diversity, training culturally sensitive doctors and bringing care to medically underserved populations. ATHENS 141 admitted 97% from Ohio Our network of hospitals and health care centers in Ohio, known as the Centers for Osteopathic Research and Education, or CORE, has grown and evolved. We have both longtime and new partners to thank for fulfilling our need for increased third-year rotation positions, especially in central and northeast Ohio. Our hospital partnerships are evolving from a 20-yearold consortium model into direct relationships with teaching facilities, allowing us to jointly develop and advance their clinical learning environments.
