OUR STRATEGIC PLAN

Since our beginning , our college has been guided by its founding idea : To train excellent osteopathic physicians who serve Ohio ’ s communities of greatest need . The 2011 transformational gift of $ 105 million from the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation launched us on a period of growth and renewal , as the initiatives outlined within the gift built on our strengths and the beliefs that we have championed since our beginning . In 2012 , under the leadership of our new executive dean , Ken Johnson , D . O ., and as we were executing initiatives outlined in the gift , we embarked on a strategic planning process . The intent of the resulting plan was to provide a clear roadmap for college-wide efforts between 2015 and 2017 .
A broad range of internal and external stakeholders contributed to our process . We reviewed our mission , vision and values . Additionally , we took a deeper look into our research and curricular objectives , especially in primary care , to gain a better understanding of where we stood then and determine where we wanted to be in the future . The plan that emerged from our process made clear our college strategy and priorities . This plan has guided our growth and development .
In the following pages we report on progress toward our goals in fiscal year 2015-2016 .
