2017-18 PBC YEARBOOK Volleyball FLAGLER WINS THIRD STRAIGHT PBC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT TITLE MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – The Flagler College Saints hit .221 as a team and had 13 total blocks as they swept the Georgia College Bobcats 3-0 to win their third consecutive PBC Volleyball Tournament Championship on Sunday in Milledgeville. The Saints earn the Peach Belt’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and improve to 24-3 on the year with their 19th straight win. Georgia College, falls to 23-7 on the season. The championship game appearance was their first. Georgia College began the first set with a 5-1 run, getting two kills from Emma Boughner, but Flagler responded with 10 straight points to take a commanding lead. The Saints collected three blocks during that run alone, all three involving PBC Player of the Year Sara Davis. . After registering four team blocks in the first set, the Saints put their offensive prowess on display in the second, hitting .314 as a team. Once again, GC jumped out early only to be reeled in by the Saints. The third set was the m ost competitive for the two teams as neither could open up more than a four- point lead. With the score tied at 20, Flagler got kills from Davis and Karlie Redfern who then paired up on a block, to run off four straight and take the set and the title 25-21. Redfern was named the Tourament MVP after leading the Saints once again with 10 kills. She was the only Flagler player to crack double digits as Valmyr had nine kills and Reagan Swift seven. Tara Savisky led the Saints with 31 assists and Kayla Norelli had 22 digs. Redfern added six digs and five total blocks to her totals. Raquel Kulak led the team with six total blocks while Davis also had five. Bochniak and Powers led Georgia College with nine kills each. The Bobcats hit only.036 as a team in the match. Kayla Brockway had 29 assists and Chandler Ewaldsen 18 digs. 37
