The Flagler County Education Foundation is a direct
support, 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization that
has been working since 1990 to engage Flagler
County’s community leaders in supporting public
education.
For more than 25 years, dedicated community
leaders have served on the organization’s board of
directors with a shared vision of enhancing academic
opportunities and resources available for local
students. These directors reach throughout the
community, asking for gifts of time, talent and
treasure. Sometimes this means encouraging friends
to attend a fundraiser, speak to civic organizations to
obtain support for scholarships, or coordinating a
donation drive for school supplies and student
necessities.
Fortunately, the Education Foundation is able to
leverage local fundraising efforts by securing
dollar-for-dollar matching funds made available
through the state’s Take Stock in Children
Scholarship program and the Consortium of Florida
Education Foundations. In addition to matching
dollars, affiliation with state programs offer staff and
volunteers access to professional development
opportunities, as well as best practices to guide and
support program development.
