HEALTHCARE & LOCAL RESOURCES THE STUART F. MEYER HOSPICE HOUSE The Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House is an eight-bed care center on the campus of Florida Hospital Flagler. This is a place where hospice patients in need of acute pain management or symptom control can receive 24/7 care by trained staff and volunteers. SOCIAL SERVICES ABOUND IN FLAGLER COUNTY Flagler County offers a broad range of social services to help and provide referral sources for local residents. The Social Services Department operates three divisions: Human Services, Senior Services and Adult Care. Human Services provides medical care and emergency rent/ utility assistance for low-income adults. Many services are health-related, including medical assistance, prescript ion assistance, emergency dental care, wheelchair/walker loans and help completing Social Security disability applications. State mandated services include the Health Care Responsibility Act, Medicaid Nursing Home and Hospitalization, Indigent Cremation and/or burial and the Healthy Kids Program (Florida Kidcare). Emergency food is available through a local food pantry, the Flagler Resource Center. Human Services can provide emergency assistance to help pay a first month’s rent, past due rent or utilities.
