Charitable Partner: Karam Foundation Charitable Partner: Can.Do.org Project Location: Turkey Project Location: Haiti Millions of Syrians now live in tents and temporary shelters because their homes have been destroyed or are too dangerous to live in. LuminAID lights distributed by the Karam Foundation allow them to safely light their tents, and bring comfort to families that are left with little. The solar powered lanterns provide a helpful alternative to the fire hazards of open flames and the health hazards of kerosene lanterns. Can-Do.org has worked to help communities in Haiti for many years and distributed thousands of LuminAID solar lanterns. According to Eric Klein, the head of Can-Do.org, LuminAID’s lights are “the perf ect lighting system for the kind of work we do in the field. Many people- especially women with small children living in temporary shelters.” Charitable Partner: SCM Medical Missions Charitable Partner: Convoy of Hope Project Location: Jordan & Greece SCM Medical Missions is focused on the specific task of bringing relief and aid to people affected by conflict and natural disaster within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and to bring people and cultures together to build bridges of understanding. SCM distributed 1,000 LuminAID lights to refugees in Greece in 2017, and is in the process of distributing over 2,000 more to the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Jordan. Project Location: Fiji, Haiti, Peru and more Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization focused on children’s feeding initiatives, community outreach and disaster response. They have served more than 80 million people to date. Convoy of Hope is consistently among the first to respond to disasters throughout the world, and are highly regarded for their scalable distribution model, Disaster Response teams, 6 international warehouses and Mobile Command Center.
