Millions of Syrians now live in tents
and temporary shelters because their
homes have been destroyed or are too
dangerous to live in. LuminAID lights
distributed by the Karam Foundation
allow them to safely light their tents,
and bring comfort to families that
are left with little. The solar powered
lanterns provide a helpful alternative to
the fire hazards of open flames and the
health hazards of kerosene lanterns. Can-Do.org has worked to help
communities in Haiti for many
years and distributed thousands of
LuminAID solar lanterns. According
to Eric Klein, the head of Can-Do.org,
LuminAID’s lights are “the perf ect
lighting system for the kind of work we
do in the field. Many people- especially
women with small children living in
temporary shelters.”
