Hospital in Ft. Worth. Our teams also go to schools, nursing homes, camps and hospice calls as requested. Recently we’ve become involved with an anti-bullying program aptly named, “Just Say WHOA To Bullying”. Our motto is “Sometimes we need someone to simply be there, not to fix anything or do anything in particular, but just to let us feel we are supported and cared about.- We do not charge for visits but donations are appreciated to help cover gas etc.  Our website is minihoovesoflove. org. We are on Facebook and you can also find us on Twitter. Mokey and Me- with Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services As soon as I met Mokey, I hoped to use her in Miniature horse therapy. She came to me as a gift during a difficult time in my life. In gratitude, I wanted to share the blessing of her with others. Her AMHA registered name is Charis Blessing, which in essence means a double blessing. Within the past year, KPETS a local Pet Therapy Organization has enlarged their services and have begun to register Miniature horse therapy teams. Even though, Mokey and I have done occasional informal visits and events in the past (family days assisted-living facilities, local businesses and a school). It has been a benefit to connect with this larger organization that has many contacts already made in South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland. Guests of Honor at an assisted living community party with a Kentucky Derby theme. Mokey and I were in the first group of Mini teams going through their training and evaluations. It was an honor to then be asked to join the committee who is leading this new facet of KPETS. (FYI: Julie Good is also a part of this new initiative at KPETS. You may be familiar with her because of her involvement over the years with AMHA as secretary, showing on the AMHA show circuit and promotion of the American Miniature Horse in various ways) KPETS has connections in long-term care facilities, hospice centers, hospitals, special needs programs, schools, and even colleges. Basically anywhere human/animal interactions are beneficial, KPETs has been able to go. I envision that we will focus our visits mostly on those with special needs and/or those who are in long-term care facilities. But my strongest interest lies in using Mokey to encourage literacy in struggling readers. Who knows, we may even write a book someday!
