Mini Horse Heroes Foundation
Mini Therapy Horses
Mini Horse Heroes, was started over 15 years
ago to honor the life of Port Authority Police
Officer Ken Tietjen, who gave his life at the
World Trade Center on 9/11. The Foundation’s main focus is assisting children and first
responders in need.
Mini Therapy Horses is my heart and soul
and our program is growing daily.
We’re so proud to be an integral part of Mayor Garcetti’s Crisis Response Team and the
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Mini Horse Heroes owns, handles
and trains some of the country’s
smallest police horses and travels
throughout New Jersey and the tristate NYC area to provide comfort,
support and therapy to families and
communities who are experiencing
trauma or tragedy, with a focus on
children of first responders who have
lost their lives in the line of duty.
From inspiring children to volunteer and
help others, to bringing joy and relief to children and families staying at Ronald McDonald House, to veterans in the Intensive Care
Unit at the Veterans Hospital, to comforting
survivors of the San Bernardino shootings,
Mini Therapy Horses is available 24/7 with
their teams of highly trained mini horses and
handlers.

after FDNY Rescue 1,
which suffered heavy
losses on 9/11. Hamlet,
