Our tiny, 27” senior stallion, ME HE Super Tuff Enuff (Tuffy) would also have to
be at the forefront of our favorite list. We bought Tuffy from the Elders in 2013 and
brought him back into the show ring in 2015. Carol says Tuffy is my favorite because
he is so unique and has so much spunk and personality. Whenever judges see him for
the first time, they ask lots of questions about him and seem very interested in him.
One of our most memorable moments from Worlds this year was watching Mike
Hlavatovic show Tuffy in the Open Senior Stallion class. Emily Conder was showing
a stallion too and the trainers let them get nose to nose at the end of the class. Lots
of snorting, squeaking, and hoof stamping ensued and Tuffy won the showdown and
the class!

At home Tuffy has so much personality, his antics keep us entertained. He loves his
round pen workouts. He loves to chase a bag tied to the end of the whip and when we
let him catch it, he stomps on it, kicks up his heels, and bucks around for a bit before
getting back to work. And did I mention he squeaks? Whenever he’s excited, during
breeding, if he’s staring down another stallion or when he’s attacking the bag in the
round pen, he squeaks. He is a very interesting horse.

For us, with no previous horse experience, Miniatures are such a great fit. Big horses
can be a bit intimidating and if we get kicked or stepped on by our horses it’s just a
bruise below the knee, not a broken bone! Plus they are easier to hug!
