mini scoop Ride TV Features a Miniature Horse Documentary T hrough the years, Tony Greaves of Little America Miniatures has been interviewed many times for newspapers, magazines, TV and radio. Some of these have been with professionals, some with amateurs, and some with students. Although usually pleased with the results, Tony sometimes wonders where the interviewer’s final information came from, certainly not quoted from him! But such was not the case when in November of 2014 he was contacted by Ride TV producer Mikon Haaksman. Mikon explained what he had in mind and time was set for a ranch visit and the video interview. Even before the agreed date, a list of questions was sent to Tony that revealed the information he wanted to cover. Tony pro- vided some photo history on the breed and his experience that added a chronological background to the story of today’s AMHA horses. The Ride TV crew arrived consisting of a cameraman and sound man. After a brief tour of the ranch, they set up and for several hours discussed Tony’s lifetime of equine experience and specifically, his time involved with Miniature horses. Frankie and Darl Nigh of Lazy N Miniatures were also interviewed at their farm and the final section of the hour long video spotlighted therapy with Miniatures and featured Jim and Linda Woods of Mini Hooves of Love. This documentary is well edited, and the information is complete. What a great tool to use for people interested in learning about Miniatures. The hour-long documentary aired for the first time on Ride TV in early March of 2016. Unfortunately, it was only broadcast through Dish network. But luckily CarbonTV was allowed to share the program, where you can now watch the production in its entirety at: http://www. carbontv.com/videos/0_370g1c9z Thank you Purina for sponsoring The Miniature Horse: Ride Presents A P R I L / M AY 2016 Miniature Horse World 17
