Dear Friends ,
San Bernardino County is blessed to have a large network of nonprofits that are engaged and strive to make a difference in our communities each and every day .
It is my pleasure to join the Daily Press and the Academy for Grassroots Organizations in recognizing these wonderful organizations and the people who make them possible .
For the last two years , our nonprofit communities have been behind a collective effort called Give BIG San Bernardino County , which has helped raise funds and awareness for a multitude of nonprofit organizations in our County . Through these efforts , three-quarters of a million dollars has been donated to local nonprofits . Thanks to these successes , Give BIG San Bernardino County is back this year and will take place on November 29 , 2016 .
The Academy for Grassroots Organizations plays a central role in helping organize Give BIG San Bernardino County , and it continues to provide local nonprofits with an avenue to exchange ideas , enhance fundraising efforts and become more effective .
I encourage you to learn about the nonprofits that serve your community and to get involved in helping them succeed , whether it be through donations or by volunteering your time to help . We can make a difference in our communities , if we all work together .
