Tricia Russell Vohden
Vericon Construction Company
F
or Tricia Vohden, Cofounder and Executive
Vice President of Vericon Construction
Company, working in a male-dominated industry
wasn’t always easy. “I used to try to blend in with
the boys by not wearing heels or bringing a purse
to a job site,” she says. Those days are long gone.
Now, it is important to her that the women she
hires never feel those insecurities or experience
gender bias.
Tricia and her two partners founded Vericon
in 2005, building the company on a foundation of
outstanding customer service and attention to
detail, which is why over 90% of Vericon’s work
is for repeat customers. Driven, hardworking and
passionate about construction, Tricia has grown
Vericon from 5 employees to over 200, with
three offices and a geographic footprint spanning
14 states.

To young women in construction, Tricia
advises: “Be true to yourself, don’t be intimidated
when you’re the only woman in the room, and
start building your networking circle early. Women
need to support each other just like men do.”
Tricia has over 18 years of experience and is a
certified LEED AP. She received the 2016 Women
of Achievement Award from the Professional
Women in Construction, NJ Chapter, and has
recently joined their Board of Directors. She
balances her success with charitable endeavors,
including starting the Vericon Foundation in
2015. “I love what I do,” she says, “and with
Vericon, I have the opportunity to show all of our
employees, both male and female, that women
not only belong in construction but can be leaders
in our industry.”
