Martensville Facilities Martensville Civic Centre The Civic Centre, which once served as Martensville’s Primary School, was renovated in 2000 and is now home to the Wheatland Library, Health Nurse, Martensville Information & Visitor Centre, History Club and other community programs. The Civic Centre is located at 66 Main Street. There are also numerous meeting rooms available for rent. Rental Inquiries should be directed to the Recreation and Community Services Office- Program Supervisor; 306 683-5577 Martensville Sports Centre As in many communities the Martensville Sports Centre is the hub of activity in the winter months. Located at 555 Main Street the arena is open to a number of different activities. The Sports Centre is home to minor hockey teams from Initiation right up to Midget, a Figure Skating Club, Rec. Hockey teams, and Curling Club. An upper mezzanine is also utilized for tournaments, fundraisers, and other special events. The arena was built in 1984 with a Curling Rink opening in 1986. The arena has 6 hockey dressing rooms and 1 referee room. The ice size is 85 x 200 and has a seating capacity of 600 and 150 standing. The artificial ice plant provides the opportunity to start the winter season a little sooner than normal. The ice is ready for public use around Mid August. The Curling Surface has four sheets and a size of 142 x 56. Curling usually begins in October. The Curling Rink is also used in the off season for Plastic Bat & Ball, weddings, reunions and other various functions.
