not much shade. Shore access from both sides of Kinburn Side Road. Free boat launch. If you
want to swim, head to nearby Fred Miller Park off Margaret Street.
When you’re not catching panfish, bass, northern pike or walleye, it’s a short walk into town
for food, snacks, ice cream or shops for mom and dad.

DOWS LAKE, CENTRAL OTTAWA
This popular tourist area, handy to downtown, is a surprisingly productive fishing spot.
Extensive trails and parkland. Dows Lake Pavilion offers restaurants, washrooms, vending
machines, etc. Many rocky areas and weedbeds create habitat for panfish and bass, but muskie
lurk in the depths. Can be busy at times, but due to its sheer size there’s always room to cast a
line. Canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals, parking (paid). Get there by car, bike or transit.
