New Ministry of HHK WMC
Hanhee Kim World Mission has been serving the children , pastors , and communities of Peru through several ministries over the past years . By the grace of our God and the love offerings from sponsors , we are able to serve Peru through these ministries to become a nation that is saturated with the Gospel of Jesus and continuously used by God .
This year , as we are once again busy with scheduling and planning for the various ministries , God gave another inspiration to His servants . It was the command to “ Take care of the Pastor ’ s children .”
Moses appears in the book of Exodus in the Old Testament . He is one of the key figures in the history of Israel . The Bible , however , makes a very short introduction to Moses ’ sons . They are briefly mentioned in Exodus 18:3-4 and 1 Chronicles 26 .
Even though the inspiration was just recently placed upon our hearts , God planted the seed for this ministry six years ago . It all began with a $ 1,000 offering from a sponsor with a memo stating , “ Please use this check for the children of a pastor ’ s family .” At the time , we did not know what to do with the check and deposited the check , but God continuously reminded us about that memo and it was a recent incident that led to an understanding and confirmation of what God was planning .
The story goes back 4 years ago to a pastor in his early 40 ’ s , living in Washington who was fighting against cancer and had a wife and 4 young sons . We do not know why , but God called him home early in his age . After their father ’ s departure , there was a great financial strain . But , his wife wanted to carry out the legacy of her husband and sponsored three children through the [ Children of Jesus ] ministry . By sending a $ 75 check monthly without missing a single month . However , she sent us a letter recently . As we were reading the letter , we immediately realized what the inspiration from God about ‘ take care the children of pastors ’ meant .
“ We are so sorry that we no longer can sponsor the children in Peru . Even though we wanted to keep my husband ’ s wish to help the poor children continuously , our circumstance doesn ’ t allow us to do so . Please tell the children that we ’ re sorry .”
The family was having a great financial burden . The 4 sons were the ones that needed the most help . Just as the Bible mentioned very little about Moses ’ sons and they were neglected from people ’ s memories , there are many pastors ’ children who unintentionally become neglected . Most times , they are not anyone ’ s concern , whether they are hurt or in need , how they are coping with the stress as pastor ’ s kids , and why they are wandering in the world without feeling wanted from the church or people . However , God was watching them . God knew their pain and tears . Thus , God wanted HHK WMC to embrace them through the ministry in the name of Sons of Moses . God planned this many years ago .
As we delivered a donation offering to the four sons and their mother , the [ Sons of Moses ] ministry took its first step . It was another miracle that we experienced . Our God ’ s eternal love , grace , and blessings are for many “ Moses ” in the world who are giving their whole lives for advancing the Kingdom of God .
