FOCUS ON BUSINESS Membership Benefits Making the Most of your Membership Business Development The Business Development Committee is responsible for the planning, organization and presentation of the monthly Breakfast and Luncheon programs. These programs are held for networking and promoting member businesses while enjoying dynamic speakers who address subjects of interest. Government Affairs The reward of belonging to the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce is full-time representation with year-round results. In a community the size of Calabasas, a single voice may often go unheard, but the collective voice provided by the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce has benefited local businesses for nearly 50 years. Join us and discover for yourself what a great return you can make on an investment in the Calabasas Chamber—always at work for you! The Government Affairs Committee considers legislation at city, county, state and federal levels, and makes specific recommendations on legislation to the Board of Directors. The City of Calabasas gives a report, and guest speakers are often invited to talk about issues that impact the community. Education Committee The Education Committee supports the education of our future work force by providing a link between the business community and local schools to initiate and promote programs of mutual interest. This committee also awards graduating students from local middle and high schools for scholastic honors, positive attitudes, academic efforts, and their contributions to the community. Attorneys Forum The Attorneys Forum consists of the Chamber attorneys who meet several times a year to network and provide referrals. In conjunction with the City of Calabasas, the attorneys participate in the May 1st “Law Day” every year and provide free legal advice to community members of the Calabasas Chamber, residents of Calabasas and neighboring citizens. Membership & Deputy Program The Chamber has a dedicated Membership Committee to assist in membership development and satisfaction as well as “value added” membership programs. New Member Meet & Greets are held during the year to make new members feel welcome and educate them on utilizing Chamber programs. Member Appreciation Day celebrates member support. Chamber Deputies, known as the “meeters and greeters” of the Chamber, organize the delivery of a gift to the other members whose businesses are located in the area. Monthly Business Networking Events These “after-5” membership get-togethers provide members a venue to meet, exchange business cards, and talk business in an informal setting. Opportunities are also available to host a mixer to showcase a member’s business. Please contact the Chamber office if you would like to host a mixer (818) 222-5680. 8 2016 Destination Calabasas United States Congressman Ted Lieu Chamber Committees Get involved!
