Under the  guidance of  their elders, they created Kwäday Dän Kenji (Long Ago Peoples’ Place), a cultural interpretive centre that sits on the  traditional land of the  Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. Harold and Meta reveal a poignant insight into what it means to them to share their culture with others. This Sayisi Dene Legend was recorded in 1974 and was told by John Clipping, Mary Code’s late father. THE Klondike Viking Lulu Keating, YT, 20m, doc The story of Bill Hakonson is one of ambition and adventure. Bill’s family immigrated from Norway to the Canadian Prairies. His adventurous spirit took him north to the Yukon. He settled in Dawson City in 1943. The gold mining town provided him the opportunity to start many successful businesses, and to finally find the secure family life he didn’t have as a child. 8
