Partnerships

Dozens of partners stepped up to support parks and recreational programming in 2016 . Here are some highlights :
+ The Department and the San Francisco Parks Alliance joined forces to promote Let ’ sPlaySF !, a $ 26 million public-private partnership to renovate the 13 playgrounds deemed most in need by a citizen task force .
+ City Fields Foundation announced plans to award the Department $ 6 million to assist with continued improvement of San Francisco athletic fields .
+ Partnership with The Francisco Park Conservancy to build a new 4.25-acre park at the site of the Francisco Reservoir .
+ Worked with the Trust for Public Land on a $ 6.9 million renovation of Hilltop Park in the Bayview that opened in DECEMBER and on a $ 10 million renovation of the Civic Center playgrounds set to begin this year .
+ Collaborated with community groups to improve parks across the City from Mountain Lake Park Playground and Alamo Square to McLaren Park .
+ Champions of recreational programming attended the Crab Fest , generating thousands of dollars to support the Department ’ s scholarship program .
+ Revitalization of the Nate Thurmond Basketball courts in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle in partnership with the Good Tidings Foundation and the Golden State Warriors Community Foundation . y Fields Foundation has parks throughout the city , s by 90,000 hours per year .
+ Kaiser Permanente supported Eggstravaganza , Playday , Scaregrove and the Holiday Tree lighting , to help the Department bring free and low-cost carnival fun to San Francisco families .
