Still watching the rants about President Elect Donald Trump. I will admit, he was my chosen candidate, lol if you all haven't guessed by now. But lets move on beyond that. We are all adults. I presume that everyone that reads my post is level headed enough to hold a calm conversation about politics. Well at least I would hope. Let's take a moment and step back. No matter which side you voted for. At this point it no longer matters. That phase is over. The American people and the Electoral College have done finished voting and we have an outcome. Being it was so close on the popular vote many have had a hard time accepting the results. Keep in mind though the popular vote is not how our elected officials, the ones that WE THE PEOPLE has empowered, have decided that winners of our elections would be determined. I do thing that the whole winner take all in the states makes it a bit unfair and may have changed the numbers somewhat. I think that possibly that may need to be addressed for future elections. Make each electoral vote stand-alone and count for it. I mean really we are talking less than 600 votes to count within a 24-hour period. I also believe that those that are apart of the Electoral College should gather in a central place on election night. A grand hall, in which they would place their ballots. We who cast our popular votes are gathered to voting locations. This would speed the entire process up. A live feed of the County result could be fed to that location first to help them make their decisions. And just as we have an 8 o'clock dead line to cast our votes, they should also have a dead line to cast theirs. We gave our government the power to establish this system and I think it is a decent system but is in need of tweaking. I think that the number of electoral votes needs to be re-aligned based on populace, not economy, tax base, nor average revenue. Due to revitalization of our cities and rural areas as well as new developments in many areas, populations have shifted. What was once good 20 years ago is not as good as a representation today. So how do we all fit into this personally? Well this is the involvement get up close. For many years we have sat back and let the government do their thing. We offered no checks and balance to keep them in line. We sit back and complain and it goes on and on and on. This is how we have got to where we are today. Like a slow drip from a faucet.... sooner or later there is going to be a build up of calcium below. A stain that is hard to remove. We all know it's there and we just let it keep building up and get worse. Well now we have a chance to make a difference. All we have to do is get together and all put some elbow grease into scrubbing the stain away. It starts small, get to know your local representatives, make sure they know you. Then you start working your way upward. Pick your battles, chose something to tackle, enlist a friend or three or eight to help. Remember there is power in numbers. A single voice can get lost in the crowd. If your group starts to spread the word you will soon find out your small group becomes a movement and as long as you keep your goal level headed you will accomplish it. My goal is to keep spreading the word. Help break down the walls that the miscommunication in this election has brought about. I am seeing too much anger in the eyes and hearts of my friends and fellow Americans and it saddens me. I have no place in my heart or head for stupidity, but if I can reach out and make sense to someone and they truly understand and are willing to make a change to work for the common good, my goal is working. So when you hear me say God Bless American and you to, I really mean it. This election hasn't ruined anything; hell it was already leaning into the ditch well before that. I would like to incite all my friends to help in reaching out and trying to make this kind of difference. What do you have to lose; we have to start somewhere, might as well start here. God Bless, keeps safe, and remembers it's not just for us; it's for generations to come. Thank you.
