Sudden Beginnings – Part III

She followed him around for the next two days, making observations and sketching them on her tablet. Whenever he would go to her 'cave' she would always make sure that she waiting on the bed because she assumed that was where she was supposed to be. She was always there when he came so as far as he knew she never left the room. On the third day in the middle of the night he was awoken by a loud noise coming from the home theater room. It sounded as if someone was having very loud sex. Puzzled and alarmed he entered the room cautiously. His first observation was that no one was there, but the TV was on, at a very high volume.
Stepping into the room he looks for the remote, not finding it he manually turns it off. As he turned to leave, the TV suddenly sparks back to life. Hearing a tap tap sound he looked up above the couch. There crouched and writing on a tablet was the girl. How did she....? He suddenly realized what she'd been watching. She seemed to be sketching on the tablet while looking at the TV her head tilted as she observed the screen. He smacked his hand to his face in disbelief. Oh my gosh she discovered the TV and had left 'the' movies out. He'd never do that again.
Slowly, she noticed he was standing there. Her face lit up and she seemed to bow her head at him. Crawling across the ceiling she headed to the wall next to him. As she crawled down the wall. She was looking from the tablet to him and back again. Puzzled at her actions. He just continued to watch her. So transfixed in watching her he did not realize how close she was and did not realize she was crouched till she was level of his manhood. She looked at her tablet and looked at him. Then she leaned forward and sniffed him. Feeling her breath on him he jumped back startled. She reached out to touch him he said” No!” And he turned around and pointed to her room. Though seeing the firm a look on his face she pouted and shook her head no. He stomping his foot he pointed to her room and said, “Go!” Reluctantly she hung her head crawled up the wall across the ceiling out of that room and into hers.
Before going to his afternoon shower he wanted to talk to Maria, one more time. It had been seven and a half months. He sits down at his desk, opens the pouch taking out the stone. “Maria, I need to ask you something...very important. I need your opinion...please?” Curious as to what he could need her opinion about she responded,” Yes, What do you need Ten'?” “Its...about the …..girl.” he finally finished. “Oh? What about her?” Maria asked innocently. “Well here's where you get to tell me the 'I told you so' speech. I think.....No, I finally know how I feel about her. But I don't know if she will feel the same. Its just so.....difficult! We don't even speak the same language.” “Your going to have to try to let her know you want to be more than just her 'Teacher'. I know you guys spend some time together while you teach her basic life skills. Follow your heart.” “Easier said than done.” Ten' mutter running his fingers through his fur. They finished talking and he sat in the dark trying to figure out how to tell someone he barely knew for a short time that he loved them. “Sheesh, this is crazy.” he sighed.
Screams like a wounded animal issued from the adjacent room causing Ten' to jump up and sprint into the bathing room. For the first time since her death, Ten' left Maria's stone behind. At this Maria just smiled. Soon she would be at peace, but not until he was ready for the transition. She knew their love would never die, but needed to be tucked out of the way. Life for him needed to resume, just a new path with a new partner. He raced into the bathing room, he stood at the shower doorway and asked." May, I come in? I can help you." Recognizing his voice almost like it was a familiar memory, she nodded. “You're going through growing pains your body is developing at an accelerated rate,” Ten' informed her. “And I can help ease the pain. Will you let me help you?" she nodded yes." Do you trust me?"
