meats and identify meat cuts or grains and give written and / or oral response on one class . Anyone enrolled in 4-H / FFA may enter the County Livestock Judging Contest . The highest scoring 4-H individuals in the intermediate and senior division will have the privilege of making up a county judging teams to State Fair provided they are enrolled in a livestock project . Club consists of 4 people taking the average of the top 4 scores .

ROUND ROBIN CONTESTS
4-H / FFA GRAND CHAMPION LIVESTOCK SHOW- MAN ( Round Robin ) Champion and Reserve Champion beef , sheep , swine , dairy , dairy goat , and horse showmen will compete for grand champion livestock showman . See animal science policy No . 22 . Premium : Ribbon
HERDSMANSHIP
Club & Individual Contests 1 . Bedding will be provided for all livestock . Exhibitors must bring own feed , feed boxes , buckets , and show equipment .
2 . Livestock exhibitors will keep their stall , tack areas and animals clean for the duration of the show . Manure and soiled bedding will be removed from stalls and placed in designated pick-up areas by exhibitors . Pick-up areas will be emptied daily .
3 . All work on animals and stalls must be done by members only ( exceptions will be made for safety reasons ).
4 . Beef and dairy animals must be tied with safety knot and neck rope . Dairy goats must be tied in pens using a safety knot .
5 . Pans and buckets all species : All grain buckets must be removed when animal is done eating . Water buckets must be secured to remain in stall . Dairy & Beef If hay is left in the stall for the animal it must be kept neat and orderly .
6 . Animals must be kept in their own areas and away from grassy exhibit area
7 . Hay and feed can be kept in the barn but kept neat ( depending on space availability .) 8 . Stall cards must be legible ( use wide marker ). 9 . No food or drink in sheep barn . 10 . Blanketing of sheep will be allowed until after the sheep showmanship contest . 11 . No washing of market animals after 8:00 a . m . the day of the sale . 12 . Individual or clubs with less than three animals will be judged separately . 13 . See additional rules for each species on barn bulletin boards .

HERDSMANSHIP CONTEST
All 4-H clubs and FFA chapters will be scored as a unit during
the entire time they have animals on exhibit at the Fair . Exhibitors
not exhibiting good Herdsmanship will be excused from
the Fair . Individuals or clubs with less than three animals will
be judged as a unit on a parallel contest .

Herdsmanship Score Card The livestock Herdsmanship contest is provided to help teach contestants to be courteous , neat , and orderly , and to take proper care of their animals . Basis of Scoring : Animals ….……......................…….................………. 50 points Beef and Dairy must be tied with safety knot and neck rope . All animals must be fed in stalls only ( pans and buckets removed when animal is finished ). Animal must be kept in their own area . Animals must be clean and comfortable - regularly fed and cared for .
Barns …………………………..................................... 50 points Alleys , stalls and tack area clean ( hay and feed be kept in the barn but kept neat ). Stall cards must be legible ( use wide marker ). No food or drink around stalls or animals . Equipment must be stored safely .
HERDSMANSHIP DAILY AWARDS Blue , Red and White card will be awarded to each club per division . * Below white card score no premium awarded
EDUCATIONAL DISPLAYS Herdsmanship Contest 1 . An optional contest for individuals or clubs / chapters . 2 . Display are meant to inform the public on current agriculture issues and general agriculture information pertaining to the animals 3 . exhibited . 4 . All Educational displays will be exhibited on the Show Barn Wall Educational displays are due into the Extension Office by Tuesday of Fair week .
