2016 DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
2016 was a wonderful year . We were able , with the help of all of you , to sow into the lives of many around the world . It is such a blessing to know we are spreading hope and life . Let ’ s take a look at the highlights :
RELIEF WORK :
In the days after Hurricane Matthew we were able to help send a small team to help distribute much needed water filters to the people of Les Cayes and Cavaillon , Haiti . It is estimated that around 12,000 people gained access to clean water . We were also able to send hygiene kits to serve 300 families at 2 schools to help prevent cholera outbreaks and provide funds for a chainsaw for Pastor Reginald to help serve communities where trees were blocking roads , etc
PERMANENT SCHOOL BUILDING :
The Hope and Care school building was completed in 2016 and in early February 2017 opened in Kalonga , Uganda . This was the culmination of almost 18 months effort –– fundraising , building the school facility , and constructing desks for hundreds of children . On the opening day , 500 children showed up ! Families from many miles away have moved to Kalonga just so their children could receive and education at the new school . Richard reports a great excitement in the region .
SCHOOL SPONSORSHIP :
Ray of Hope-India , Hope & Care-Uganda , and Centre Vie-Haiti each receive quarterly distributions of funds raised through Child Sponsorship program . In addition to these three primary school programs , we also sponsored 13 Ugandan students who completed their 1st year of
