OMETHING FOR EVERYONE” may be an overused phrase, yet its usage seems justified when
describing Nevada County. Visitors and residents have no trouble finding something to do or
enjoy that seems meant just for them. For example, exploring Nevada County will take you
from green valleys to craggy peaks, through forests, past streams, rivers and lakes. Discover spring
dogwoods, wildflowers, fall maples, snow covered mountains, scenic vistas.
Visit the county’s four state parks, each with its own special history. Learn about early pioneers
who braved the Sierra Nevada, the Gold Rush, building the transcontinental railroad. Stroll through
charming neighborhoods and quaint towns.
Nevada County is home to “California’s Most Beautiful Fairgrounds,” organizations like Music in
the Mountains and The Center for the Arts, restaurants that embrace the farm to table concept and
a wide variety of yearly events.
Also drawing visitors are the endless opportunities for outdoor activity from mountain biking to
snowshoeing to golf. Skiers, boaters, hikers, campers are all
drawn to this special part of Northern California.
