Dylan Chesterman

I would like to preface this piece by stating that it is not wise to spend an extended amount of time on the hypothetical. With that said, it is enjoyable to ponder what could have been. Reflecting back on my five years at Shaw, there are plenty of “What Ifs?”

What if?

I didn’t take honors

I didn’t take DE/AP classes

I didn’t go on the Salesian Leadership Retreat

I didn’t go back as a Young Team member

I would’ve stayed with one sport for five years

I would’ve been more social early on

I would’ve gone to all my homecomings

I would’ve eaten all my vegetables

The answers to these questions are truly unknowable, but that doesn’t mean I don't like to think about them from time to time. Some of these things I am glad didn’t happen, but a few I am interested to think "What if they had?". Though, I am content with where and who I am in life, and I couldn’t see me living my Shaw career any other way. Shaw has been good to me, but I am more than ready to leave and start my next adventure at LSU in the fall.
