Band District Results

On Thursday, March 23, the Shaw Eagle Symphonic Band went to Chalmette High School to compete in the District VI District Large Ensemble Assessment. They put up a valiant effort into playing their selected pieces and were able to achieve an overall Excellent Rating (2), receiving an Excellent Rating on stage (playing three prepared pieces) and a Superior Rating (1) in sight-reading (playing a piece of music the band had never seen before). Unfortunately, the band was unable to qualify for the Regional Large Ensemble Assessment, requirements for which are a Superior on stage and, at minimum, an Excellent in sight-reading.
