Bowling Playoffs

Congratulations to the Varsity Bowling Team who had a very strong showing in the Bi-Regional Playoffs in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Due to a seeding issue, the Eagles had to play an early match against Holy Cross. The Eagles easily won that match 24-3, bowling sixs games over 200 points, and three bowlers averaging over 200 points. Bowling 200 point games were Gage Dinicola, 202; Cadence Chesterman, 256 & 213; Matthew Collins, 225; and Dylan Chesterman, 244 & 201. Cadence averaged a 222, Dylan had a 212 average and Matthew finished with a 200 average.

After defeating Holy Cross, the Eagles would move on to the second round of the Bi-Regional to face once again the defending state champions, Brother Martin. In the first game, the Eagles would fall to the Crusaders 6-2. Matthew Collins bowled a 201 game and Gage Dinicola bowled a 200. In the second game the Eagles would stun the Crusaders, bowling their highest game total of 1289 with Gage Dinicola bowling a 205, Matthew Collins with a 221, Teddy Johansen with a 236 and Dylan Chesterman with a 238. Cadence Chesterman tied his match with a 195 game. Despite a Brother Martin bowler bowling a 299, the Eagles would win that game by a score of 5.5 - 2.5. With the match basically tied and the Eagles down by 69 pins, the third game would determine who would be moving on. Matthew Collins would win his match with a 205 game. Quentin Bullie also won his match. The Eagles struggled in the third match and were eliminated by the Crusaders. Matthew qualified for the singles event with a 209 average. Teddy Johansen missed the singles cut by one pin with a 204 average.

The Eagles had a great season finishing 11-4 with three losses coming from the top two teams in the state. The Eagles will be graduating five seniors and will be looking to recruit some promising new bowlers for next year.
