Introduction
The idea behind PSO is to promote discussion without grinding an
axe. In a highly critical Washington, we try to promote civility and
objectivity. We publish a lot, convene several conferences, and are
always seeking new ways to disseminate scholarship. If you took the
time to think about something, we want to share your ideas with others.
All of this is reinforced by vigorous publishing programs. I do mean
vigorous: 24 leading journals on health, water, Asia, the internet,
complexity theory, poverty, and just about every other issue under the
sun, along with more than 160 book titles each year. Do look at the
Policy Studies Organization website at ipsonet.org for details of our
publications. We are developing, in partnership with Sage, videos with
highlights from our conferences for classroom use. Our meetings are
held in many places of the world, 12 conferences all bent on networking
people of different backgrounds who want to see problems solved.
Activity! For the provosts, press corps an head hunters we have a
yearbook of experts, and we invite you to have your biography in it–see
page 4 or visit psjyearbook.com. Our cooperation with the American
Public University system means constant dialogue about online learning.
If you have ideas about this expanding field and the opportunities it
presents, we are an email away.
In sum, help us make PSO an ever more useful tool. The door for your
ideas has no latch.
