Annual Meeting
September 1-4, 2016
Philadelphia, PA
Join us in Philadelphia for the 112nd APSA Annual Meeting where we
will be hosting a workshop on Social Media Lobbying in the Political
Science Classroom.
In this short course, we will offer insights on lobbying, social media in
politics, lobbying through social media, and finally, lobbying through
social media in the political science classroom. The primary discussion
regarding lobbying is the effectiveness of both direct and grassroots
efforts. We will analyze which is more cost-effective regarding policy
issues. The workshop will cover how social media is used today to lobby
policy-makers, both directly and indirectly. Finally, we will discuss how
social media lobbying can be used in the political science classroom with
real-world examples.
The sessions are free and open to the public, and will be recorded and
posted to the site for future reference. Attendees are not required to
formally register for the APSA Annual Meeting, however we do ask that
those interested RSVP to PSO Executive Director, Daniel Gutierrez at
