Wilson also led Young Harris in field goals ( 167 ), free throws ( 155 ), assists ( 175 ) and steals ( 41 ) and is third on the team with 39 three-point field goals . Wilson , who was named to the initial Bevo Francis Award watch list , is currently ranked 11th in total assists in the latest NCAA Division II statistics and 12th in assists per game . Wilson , who has a 3.41 cumulative grade point average as a business and public policy major , hit 45.3 percent of his shots , including 32.0 percent from three-point range . The two-time All-PBC performer is first in the PBC in assists , third in free throws , sixth in points ( 505 ), seventh in scoring average , field goals and free throw percentage (. 852 ), and ninth in steals and in assist-turnover ratio ( 2.10 ).

Wilson , who was named to the All-PBC preseason team as well as being named the preseason All-America first team by Sporting News in 2016 . is one of only two active NCAA Division II players and one of 11 active NCAA Division II players to have scored at least 1,500 points and 350 assists in his career . Wilson , who was named the PBC Player of the Week once this season , is currently fourth ( 10th in all divisions ) among active NCAA Division II players with 573 assists , seventh ( 17th in all divisions ) with 1,978 points and in steals ( 190 ), ninth in free throws made ( 490 ), 16th in assist-turnover ratio ( 1.69 ), 18th in assists per game ( 5.21 ), 20th in field goals made ( 636 ), and 25th in free throw percentage (. 870 ).
USCA ’ s Chuisseu , UNG ’ s Pounds Win Inaugural Wood Foundation Scholarships
GREENWOOD , SC – USC Aiken ’ s Kevin Chuisseu and North Georgia ’ s Lauren Pounds were named the inaugural winners of the Mike and Amy Wood Foundation Graduate Scholarships on Friday . The two were presented their honors at the PBC awards banquet in Greenwood , S . C ., by long-time PBC coordinator of men ’ s basketball officials Mike Wood and his wife . The scholarships provide financial assistance to one men ’ s and one women ’ s PBC basketball player who will either be starting or has begun graduate studies in the league . This is the first year of the scholarship .
Chuisseu is currently pursuing his MBA at USC Aiken . A native of Douala , Cameroon , he came to USCA to pursue the MBA after graduating from Furman University . At Furman , he was named Academic All-Southern Conference four times and to the Dean ’ s List twice . He served as vice president of the Furman Economics Society and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee ( SAAC ) while being a team captain for the Paladins .
On the court , Chuisseu started in 25 of USCA ’ s 27 games . The forward proved a valuable commodity on defense , ranked 25th in the league in rebounding with 5.8 per game . He was also 11th in the league with 30 blocks as the Pacers finished in third place in the PBC east division and reached the PBC Tournament .

Lauren Pounds began her graduate work at North Georgia last summer towards a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction . A native of Canton , Ga ., she finished her playing career in the 2015-16 season for the Nighthawks , graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education . Pounds was named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll three times and to the women ’ s basketball All-Academic team twice and has been teaching in elementary school and serving as a graduate assistant on the women ’ s basketball team .
On the court , Pounds played in 85 games for the Nighthawks over three seasons after transferring to the school from LaGrange College . She averaged 6.3 points and 3.2 rebounds her junior season and had 3.5 rebounds per game her senior year . She received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award her senior season .
Mike Wood has been the PBC supervisor of men ’ s basketball officials since the 2006-07 season and spent over 30 years as a basketball official . He won the 2003 Naismith Award as the top college official
