OWEN FIELD
Student Manager
Fifth Year
Owen Field enters his fifth year with the Nebraska gymnastics
program as the team manager. Field originally joined as the
volunteer assistant coach in 2011 after previously holding the
same position at Southern Utah in 2010. Before his time at
Southern Utah, Field was the student manager for the Nebraska
gymnastics team from 2008 to 2010. Field is also the club coach
at UNL, the Nebraska School of Gymnastics, and was a coach at
the Southern Utah Gymnastics Academy. Field has coaching
experience at several gymnastics camps, including Lake Owen
Gymnastics Camp, Woodward Gymnastics Camp and Flip Fest.
Field was born in Scheboygan, Wis., on July 11, 1990. He is the
son of Tim and Karen Field, and has five brothers and two sisters:
Ethan, Austin, Aaron, Evan, Aiden, Emma and Eliza.

Volunteer Assistant Coach
First Year
Russell Warfield is thrilled to enter his first season with the
Nebraska women’s gymnastics program as the team’s volunteer
assistant coach.
Warfield’s background includes coaching, a lifetime of
beautiful choreography and performing at multiple levels.
A former collegiate gymnast, he boasts experience coaching
gymnasts at various clubs, universities, camps and clinics across
the country. Warfield spent many years as a volunteer assistant
coach with the Georgia Bulldogs as well as a year with the
UCLA Bruins. He has taught multiple training camps including
Woodward, Flip Fest and Junior Olympic national training camps.
He has choreographed some of the nation’s best including various
J.O. National champions, 11 NCAA floor champions and Olympic,
World Championships, Pan American Game competitors.
Warfield is a native of Middletown, Ohio and attended Ball
State University.
EMILY WONG
Student Assistant Coach
First Year
One of the most outstanding Nebraska gymnasts, Emily
Wong enters her first season as a student assistant coach for
the gymnastics team. Wong will assist in many areas including
conditioning and team management.
Last season Wong recorded one of the best senior seasons in
school history. Wong ended her career as an 11-time All-American
with a stockpile of honors both in the gym and the classroom, as
she was selected as Nebraska’s Female Student-Athlete of the
Year, the Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and a Honda Award finalist.
Finally Wong was named the 2014 AAI Award winner, an award
given to the most outstanding gymnast in the country.
Hailing from Grand Forks, N.D., Wong is a nutrition science
major and psychology/child, youth and family studies minor.
She expects to graduate in May 2015 and wishes to continue her
education to become a physical therapist.
